Make a printable word search in your browser. Paste your own words, pick a grid size, and print it on A4 or US Letter — the answer key lands on the page behind the puzzle.

Three ways to get a puzzle

      • Build your own. Type a spelling list, a vocabulary set or a set of student names, then print. Nothing is uploaded; the grid is generated on your device.
      • Print a ready-made pack. Five sheets on a theme — animals, classroom, food, colours, Christmas, Thanksgiving, winter — each with its own answer key.
      • Play the daily puzzle. One 16 × 16 grid a day, twelve hidden words, no timer and no sign-up.
      • Print a class set. One word list becomes up to 10 different grids free — same words, different arrangement — or 30 with the one-off Class Set Pass, so a whole class can work from one list without copying.

      What you get on paper

Every sheet is typeset in millimetres rather than pixels, so the grid fills the page without spilling onto a second sheet. A 15 × 15 puzzle uses 12 mm cells; a 30 × 30 landscape sheet still keeps 4.2 mm cells, which is the smallest size that stays readable for a nine-year-old. The full print specification lists every size and margin.

Words are always placed on a straight line — no near-misses that look like the word but are off by one letter — and the filler letters are checked against a list of words you would not want a class to find by accident.

      Free, and honest about it

No account, no watermark across the grid, no page limit. The footer carries the site name so a photocopy can be traced back, and the PDFs may not be resold. Everything else — printing for your class, your tutoring students, your own children — is fine.

      Questions

Is the word search maker really free?

Yes. No account, no page limit and no watermark across the grid — the footer only carries the site name.

Where does the answer key go?

On the page behind the puzzle. A sheet is one page of grid, and the key to that grid starts on the next page.

Can I print on US Letter?

Yes. A4 and US Letter portrait are both one click away, and a 30 × 30 grid also prints in landscape.

Do the words I type leave my browser?

No. The grid is generated on your own device; there is no upload step and no account.
